The Qualls Family Reunion Wrap Up Meeting was held May 25, 2008 in the Hospitality Room of the Embassy Suites in Phoenix, AZ. The meeting was called to order at 5:38 p.m. by Sylvester Rhodes, President. The following items were discussed:
1. Congratulations to the Phoenix hosts on a job well done for the 2008 Family Reunion.
2. 2 new members attended the Family Reunion this year. We are asking everyone to call any family member that has never attended a Qualls Reunion or have not attended the reunions in several years to let them know what they are missing. We would like to get more family members to participate.
3. Family Dues-Thanks to everyone who paid their family dues. The Purpose of the Family Dues is to establish seed money for the host city to put down deposits for reservations, postage for letters, and any other commitments needed before registration money starts coming in without having to come out of their own pockets. Even if you are not planing on attending the reunion in a certain year we still need your family dues to be sent or paid to help offset the cost of the reunion. To this end we will be asking everyone to pay their for the next year when they check in for Registration at the Meet/Greet. Those of you who did not pay your family dues for 2009 at the 2008 Wrap-Up meeting are asked to send your money to:

If you have not paid your dues when you send in your 2009 Registration form and money, your $25.00 will be taken off the top of what you send in, and you may have still have a balance due for whatever Reunion activities you want to participate in.
In order for family members to come to the reuion that cannot afford to pay their monies all at once, a Layaway or Payment plan will be established. You will be receiving a letter soon outlining the Layaway or Payment plan in greater detail.
4. If you have an email address (or know email addresses for other members of your family), please send it to Rita Qualls at quallsritafaye@aol.com. Also our Website is up and running with the latest info on the Qualls family. We would also like to start a business page on the Website so that we can patronize our own family members businesses.
5. The recommended site for the The 2009 Qualls Family Reunion was Memphis, TN July 10-12. A motion was made by Shirley Owens and seconded by Takeshia Rhodes to accept the recommendation site and dates. The motion carried. The Host Families for Memphis are: Maxine/Calvin Holcomb and Sylvester/Judy Rhodes. More information will be sent out in the October Family Reunion letter.
6. Sharonda Jones suggested that the Qualls Family do a cruise for the 15th year Anniversary for the Qualls Family Reunion. Information will be gathered, and this suggestion will be discussed in further detail the Wrap Up meeting at the Memphis Family Reunion.
7. Several members expressed concern that the Wrap Up meetings are over too quickly and that often times suggestions/recommendations from family member are overlooked. It was suggested that the Wrap Up meetings last a little longer (possibly 1 1/2 hours instead of 1 hour) so that any family that has a concern has a chance to express that concern. It was also suggested that the President be made aware of any concerns to be prior to the Wrap Up meeting (like Friday or Saturday) so that they can be added to the agenda for discussion if appropriate.
8. There is extra food available in the Hospitality Room. For those staying over the Memorial Holiday, the Phoenix Group will host a Cookout at the home of John and Shanetta Harmon (3:00 p.m.)
The meeting was adjourned at 7:01 p.m. with a closing prayer by Rev. James Qualls
